Vibes

As we all know, the cold war had the best vibes of any geopolitical conflict within the last several centuries (the Avignon Papacy did go pretty hard). Spy X Family does a good job of capturing these vibes. Good job! I have full faith in the Ostanian government to keep the tradition of topping the border wall with asbestos alive.

Transit

East Berlint is shown to have at least three methods of public transportation: trolleys/streetcars, a subway, and busses (although only for rich private school children?). This is the basis of a pretty good network, and I approve. I can only imagine the types of buff lesbian transit cops they have down there somewhere.

Classism, Human Intelegence, and You

Obviously, not all of the show is great from a wider view. The premise is entirely based on Loid involving two (as far as he knows) inocent civilians in a convoluted intelegence operation that will, when it ends, cause significant distress to at least one six year old girl (again, as far as he knows). The specter of classism also is kind of hanging around the show with the target being a private school, something that should never exist in the Communist utopia of Ostania! [Editors note: you're not good enough at this to try and write something this deep. Keep to stap-on jokes or something]

Yor

No critisisms. 10/10 smokeshow hottie. Fully morally justified in everything she does. Except the cooking thing jesus christ.

Vibes 2: Revengance

As almost none of you reading will know, I had a complex relationship with my own childhood. Something about the found-family-in-an-european-vaguely-not-capitalist-country-in-the-kind-of-smart-walkable-mixed-use-urban-environment-that-is-illegal-to-build-in-most-american-cities-and-the-kid-is-a-girl-who-experiences-genuine-or-at-least-she-can-think-is-genuine-and-grows-to-really-be-love-for-the-first-time-in-her-life plot just gets to me in a way very few other pieces of media have. For reasons I'm not fully ready to pay $140/hour to explore, everytime Loid does that smile in the second Season 1 outro it makes me cry like 80% of the time, everytime.

This shit makes me ugly cry

Jarring shift in tone?

One thing I didn't love about the show was the shift in tone about halfway through the first season. I don't know why, but it feels like the show suddenly had a lot more room to breathe and everything started getting stretched out. The, in my opinion, worst result of this is the tennis arc.

The Tennis Arc

IT WAS TOO LONG. IT WAS GOOD BUT IT WAS ABOUT HALF AN EPISODE TOO LONG!

Conclusions

8.5/10
Waifu: Yor, obviously. I have always maintained that when the strap goes on I should fear for my life.
